Quitting Smoking From a Feng Shui perspective.

My goal, my wish, my dream for the past several months is to live a balanced life. I have applied many of the concepts of Feng Shui in my life. Grudgingly I realized a few days ago that if I was going to be brutally honest I knew there was one thing I had to do and I was dreading the thought of it. Quitting smoking is a battle that I have known for quite some time that I would have to wage, after all your home is a reflection of yourself and your energy. It really does not matter how many crystals I hang or what paint color I use if there is evidence of an ashtray with that insidious poison better known as a cigarette lurking around the corner. I tried to find other resources to help specifically connecting Feng Shui and quitting smoking unfortunately the info out there is scarce so I will go back to the basics of Feng Shui of what I know to be true. It has been three days now and still counting since I last lit up and I tell you it is not easy all I can tell you for sure is that for today I will not smoke.

Feng Shui Cures for Sleep.

For many years I struggled to get a decent nights sleep. The reasons behind it are many if you read my bio you already know that I spent many years in a career that was high stress and full of anxiety coupled with the devastating passing of my mother I was a perfect recipe for insomnia. Between the nightmares that plagued me and the short stints of sleep that would last for only a few hours it was a wonder that I kept my sanity at all. For the better part of a year a my friend Rose would tell me constantly that I needed to get more balance in my life or I was headed for a nervous breakdown and that was when she introduced me to the concept of Feng Shui. I was amazed when I started putting cures in place in my bedroom how much my quality of sleep improved. Not only was I getting more sleep I felt more relaxed and centered. The first step I took was to remove all the pictures of family and one big image of a beach side hut facing a brilliant blue ocean. The only two pictures that I kept were of my husband and I in a loving embrace. Pictures in your bedroom of water will promote insomnia and attract bad luck. The second step I always follow religously is to make sure that all doors including my closet remain closed at night because this will encourage good health and further enhance a sense of calm. I never ever store anything under my bed but if space is a consideration never store shoes or work papers under your bed or you may find a restful nights sleep trying to run out the door. Positioning of  my bed also played a key, my bed used to sit under a window until I found out that subconciously and symbollicaly that this encourages a lack of support now my bed is backing on to a solid wall facing but not across from my bedroom door. The key is to remember that your bedroom is your sanctuary from the outside world so everything that is put in this space should represent calm relaxtion.

The Four Celestial Guardians Of Feng Shui

To really understand the theory behind Feng Shui you need to know what role the four protective celestial guardians play. Every home needs to contain these four creatures.
The first celestial guardian is the Black Tortoise he offers support and it is believed that this tortoise will help improve your prosperity in the years to come. If you cannot find a statue an image of him placed at the back or north of your home will work.
Next up is the Green Dragon he is said to be the most important of all the celestial guardians because with him comes good fortune. The dragon should always be placed at the left side of your home in a dominant position.
The third celestial creature that should only be present if you have the Green Dragon in place is the White Tiger. His image or statue should always be situated on the right hand side of the home. The Tiger will be there to protect your family from getting hurt.
Last but not least is the Red Phoenix he should always be placed at the south oo front of the home. The Phoenix is said to bring luck with him.
